"Good Product"
nitially, I was hesitant to purchase with the lack of reviews on this unit, but we decided overall it seemed to be of good quality and a great price. It came packaged well, on a freight truck. (Pre-arranged delivery, the freight company contacted me directly the day before delivery) So far, it seems to be a good unit. We replaced a trane unit with this. My husband installed it himself, with no issues. It does what it's supposed to do. I've never had a heat pump system before so the noise threw my off at first, but other than that, no complaints and that's not necessarily a complaint, just something to get used to.
"Well Built"
The item is fantastic. American Made. I replaced my HVAC System which was only 11 years old with the Goodman. My former was also a packaged unit made by a different manufacturer. I installed this myself. I am handy and not afraid of adventure. It went in so easy. I also installed the 10kw heater coil as well. If you are mechanically minded, you can do the same. The unit is heavy though. Have a friend or two help you move it in place. Doing this myself saved my $3,000.00. It only took me about five hours total to do the job as I had to remove the old unit first, disconnect the ventilation duct work (which are flex tubing and round). The intake and out flow on the new unit are square, so I had to fabricate adapters out of sheet metal to make them attach smoothly. The unit is quiet and really pushes air.
"Very Impressed"
I am very impressed with the customer service. Received the unit and box was not damage but when I opened it up the unit had some damage. I call customer service and Andy asked me questions and I sent him pictures of the damage we both agreed it was cosmetic but he said he would wait until I installed the unit before seeing what they could do to make me happy. In the end I upgraded the auxiliary heat unit at no extra cost. Great company and employees willing to help the customers.
